Hi all,
saw something pretty amazing at the club this week. Ron Taylor
who lives near here came to give us a talk on his kits. One of them
really struck me as a godsend. As well as my faithful IC-735 I have
a TS-130s. A nice little radio but prone to drift. Ron does a kit called
the X-lock which eliminates VFO drift by counting the frequency and its
rate of change i.e very slow = drift to correct, fast = tuning to ignore
On a lashed up 12mhz VFO result = ROCK steady amazing! Got to get one
for digimodes on the '130s. Ron has more info on his site
www.cumbriadesigns.co.uk and more kits besides. I have no connection
with ron other than being a satisfied builder of the "Belthorn" IF
from Radcom.
