I previously writted:-

It seems that no special interface requirements are needed.

And interface is only required if you always want to use your rigs front
panel switch to start the tuner.

As above.

Just for fun I had a look at that dreadful e-ham website, where everything
is great, fab and groovy and I noticed that all the glowing reports were
from user who owned the equipment for 0-3 Month. Or does that really mean
5 minutes ?

In which case I'd be suspicious of any reviewer in this category.

I did notice that all the (few) moans were directed towards the tuner
not finishing off the job - e.g. leaving the SWR at 1.1:5 or occasionally
worse than the antenna direct.

At this stage I'm happy accept that each antenna system is different
and there are bound to be occasional oddities and as such I wouldn't
let this put me off purchasing one.

I note that the tuner is rated 1.8 - 54Mhz but with reduced power
handling, 50 watts as opposed to 100 watts.

I had a think about this and can only deduce that the ferrites used
to obtain such compact switched inductances have a mix that aint too
good above 30Mhz, as as such those losses mean heat being produced.

Not that this would be a problem for me, I can easily provide a matched
system for for Sick Metres.

It's the convenience of HF operation that I desire, and I need the
ability to quickly tune my shopping trolley mobileý whip antenna as
well as random wires without too much faffing about.

One of these tuners appears to fit the bill so it looks like I may well
be getting drastic with the plastic (about 130UKP) soon.
