I had a similar problem with my Artec scanner when I went to XP.
By chance the problem was solved when I obtained webcam software by
Arcsoft, PhotoImpression3 and VideoImpression 1.6.
This software now commands the scanner,its printing operation and provides
a choice of hardware to be used. It puts aside parts of the scanner
software.
The printer is still routed through the scanner but at times it does need
to be dis- and re- connected directly to the pc.
I can only suggest try it out.
