Hi Henry,

It's been a LONG time since my CB days and the brain a bit fogged, but if
I remember correctly the wind screen on those Turner mikes unscrew. The
plastic ring that holds it should turn counterclockwise and the element
pops right out.

The expected response is "Yeah, tried that and it won't go!", so in that
case it's frozen, a common problem when someone screwed it on too tight.
In that case wrap a rag around it and use a pair of pipe grip pliers. Now
if you break it, no great loss, those amplified CB mikes are garbage to
begin with, the preamp has extremely poor frequency response and much
distortion. If you're successful in replacing the elementyou'll have to
replace or modify the preamp anyway.

Good luck my friend, but IMHO you're starting out with the wrong
microphone, the only useful parts are the shell and TR switch.
