I like it - no doubt an FT 290.
Which bring me nicely around to a QSO I had yesterday on 18Mhz with G0SBW/M
who was using backpack mobile !
He had a Alinco DX70 on his back, a bag of NiMh cells, a 15ft tank whip and
walked along dragging a wire counterpoise behind him while walking along
the River Colne near Brightlingsea, Essex (approx 31 miles away from me).
At least some amateurs take their radio seriously.
