To answer your question Greg, I've had a THF7 for more than a year now and
I can only recommend it! I used to take my TS870 and powersupply on
holiday to Cape Town from Pretoria, now I only have to take my foldup
dipole to listen to the HQ bulletin broadcast. Not exactly like on the
'proper' hf, but good enough to receive the bulletin firsthand.
Using the broadcast rx at sports events are also cool and though it is
dualband only, the ssb facilities make up for that.
