While searching the Internet for information about the TS-2000
I stumbled upon a modification to the FIRMWARE for the
TS-2000/TS-2000X/TS-B2000 published on 12/09/2002

Firmware update information
===========================

The All-mode Multi-bander TS-2000 series firmware has been updated
to correct the following symptoms.

Kenwood is offering the firmware updating program to the
TS-2000 series owners.

Possible symptoms:
1. In satellite mode, the frequency step information may not be
displayed correctly.

2. In satellite mode, QUICK MEMORY READ seldom displays vacant
memory channels.

3. The S-meter flickers in FM mode when the LO/WIDTH knob or
the HI/SHIFT knob is turned.

Applicable models/units
=======================
Models: TS-2000 K/E/E2, TS-B2000 K/E/E2, TS-2000X K/E
(S/Nos: From 208xxxxx through 404xxxxx)

Note: You can find the serial number imprinted on the rear panel,
just below the ANT1 or ANT2 connector; it consists of an 8-digit
number starting with the "S/NO."

Download
========
The firmware updating program can be downloaded from the link below
or send me an Email to andyg0kzt@hotmail.com and I'll send you the
help file and the .EXE file that when upzipped will reveal the
software to update the Firmware.

The procedure is straight forward and easy to follow. You will need
an RS-232C straight cable and a screwdriver. Depending on the speed
of your computer, the actual firmware upload takes about 7 minutes.
At the end of the operation, you will need to do a full reset. If you
haven't got it downloaded already, Kenwood have software available to
manage the memories and menu. Using this software you can take an
imprint of your current settings. Again, any problems and I'll
download the software to you.
