Hear, hear! Well said, Tony. The socalled "stolen generation" were
"stolen" by being taken away from tribal and fringe dwelling and educated
in schools, fed and clothed and helped to find work. Even now they have
allowances of resources, including funds and privileges that the rest of
the population does not have, have had extensive lands given to them, are
paid pensions if they don't work (and most don't). In some places the
Government has had to interfere because of the drunkenness and child
abuse, abuse not by the white population please note.
Don't you dare tell us about the sins of the white population David. We
had nothing to do with the stolen generation, and we are pouring huge
resources into the indigenous population to make up for the wrongs of the
distant past.
If you want to preach a sermon on the indigenous population question in
OZ, David, get yourself on a plane and come here and find out something
about the subject instead of pontificating from the security of your
Yorkshire castle. Incidentally the worst of the brutalising, abusing etc,.
was by English people long before any of the present population existed.
Look to your own conscience David. Tony has it right!
