Thats when we were just talking "Dam Busters" and Neil
mentioned "Night to Remember" in his reply to Ian and
well after that it jumped back and forth between cw in
the movies < which one> hahahaha

Yes the Lancasters were well able to carry out this mission
on the dams, two out of three is not bad. To restore them
took manpower from other projects. I know it was not
a depth charge, but backward spin, and sinking to a certain
depth before going "BOOM" sure looks like part of one.

Mr. Wallis , as Ian G0TEZ can say more about, also worked
and invented other things, and in aircraft, well his genius
was seen there, and even today, as the F111 jet owes it
to Mr. Wallis for stealth high speed Jet aircraft.

None of the submarine pens were put out of action, by any of
his bombs. Even direct hits, just cracked the housing they
had, and so they only surrended in 1945. Seeing the sub pens
in France is proof enough of engineering.

Somewhere, along the line, someone must of guessed, but oh no
leave it up to someone higher, and imagine the relief when
Batchy Park heard German orders to the area in question to
shift the army etc around.

Also a great spinoff was the Normandy landings, as full plans
in an abandoned landing craft also fell into their hands and
they thought another one...like before.

There is a lot that will remain locked up tight. One in mind
is one item at the bottom and they say if info is released it
might cause problems....so for many reasons the lid is on.

That was interesting, that General Patton didn't have one,
but then there was no Normany landing, and to keep the spys busy
they had him going around the country.

Monty and Churchill had them for obvious reasons, and it was
they were somewhere else and this duplicate had to be there
in UK for the spys to report on.

Don't think I have ever seen him on TV.

They'll always be veterans, as our metal is tested. I have
no problem with their stories told in private as I have heard
a few, both our side and German. Very interesting, and oh
yes classified as not told to reveal the key points, so
one can realize with Our side, no no...mum is the word.

Civilians chatter enough so lots of it does come out, only
the event and nothing really earth shattering...only when
declassified.

Yes I remember the "foo fighters" and UFOs, and some is
coming out like a bum tooth that doesn't want to come.

If you don't want to loose your job, and-or be black
listed....mum is the word. Button the lip..and they
do until retired and then we hear more, but then they
can not prove some, so ...well heard it before.

Government reply: What? < Great puzzlement >

I have no problems if classified, and I can with truth
say that NO ONE in my family has violated the Secrecy Act of
the UK.

ps: PBBS in the US is showing "Britain's X-Files" their study
on UFOs, and it is great so far.
