Sri, for giving a poor description.
I have 3 old copies of the movie. 1 video copy of an original,
1 copy from the dutch tv and 1 from the german tv. They all look the same;
the german version however is shorter.
Eg. the scene when Tuco forces Clint to walk trough a hot desert
is ok on these old copies. You see the yellow sunshine and have the
impression of two men walking in a hot desert. The DVD does not give
you that impression, turning up the brightness does not help.
Some time ago I saw the movie on the BBC and yes, the same kind
of impression like from the DVD. It's like the color yellow
is taken away. The resolution is very good ofcourse.
But I cannot get used to it. I also saw "The Wild Bunch" some
time ago on dutch tv. Also this version gave me a "cool"
impression, no scenes with sunshine but a gloomy looking movie.
My own copy is different, not gloomy. I'm convinced they altered
something. A western without these sunny scenes is not easy
to digest.
Sometime like that is not easy to describe Warren; try to describe
how an orange tastes.
