Besides my direct reaction to DL1GBM and I1YGQ I feel the need to issue a
corrective message after the demand of DL1GBM for info how to obtain an
amateur radio license in Madagascar for private use instead of amateur radio
use.

I am a permanent resident in Madagascar, living here two years and holding
a amateur radio license as 5R8DS (ex-PA3BXC). As part of my profession I
have a close relation with the PTT and the officier who issues amateur and
point-to-point licenses.
 .
Amateur radio is again legal in Madagascar and we're slowly building up.
This means that demands from someone for an amateur radio license for
private or commercial communication in the amateur radio bands is JUST
NOT WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR.
 .
Please gives us a break and apply for a commercial point-to-point license
outside the amateur bands, and pay for it as you should. This equally
applies for mission posts, with all respect for the good work they may do.
I would think they even should give an example on correctness and HONESTY.
So let's forget this question and consider it as an 'Oops..!'.
.
Also any serious radioamateur coming to Madagascar and in need of information
on activity or licenses in 5R8, is welcome to address his demands to me.
 .
Kindest regards, keep up the good work!
 .
Ben, 5R8DS
