Hello Genealogy fans and thanks for reading this.
Tracing of the LEMASONRY family tree.
I have been researching my family name and have slowly been making progress
tracing my blood line back, I have got as far as my Great-Great Grandfather,
which takes me as far back as the early 1800's.
I have found that the way my name is presented has changed, not a major
change but enough to fox any tracing of people sharing the same. It appears
that my grandfather was responsible for the change, so all records beforehand
show it in its original form.
The way it is presented today, is as follows; LeMasonry or Le Masonry.
It was previously presented as; Lemasonry.
Through tracing back available records, census returns and marriage records, I
have ascertained that my Great-Great Grandfather was a farmer in southern
Ireland around the early 1800's and went by the name of John Lemasonry. I am
guessing on the southern irish connection, simply because my Great-grandfather
stated in a census return that he was born in Waterford Ireland. So I think it
follows that my Great-Great Grandfather was born there too, but as we all know
it may not either.
Now I am after any advice, or offers of help, in order to trace records of my
family in Ireland, ie how to get birth, death and marriage records from the
area and if any of them left Ireland to other parts of the world, which is
possible.
Also have any of you, whilst tracing your family trees, come across the name,
even if it is just by marriage to a male relative of your ancestors.
Any information will be gratefully received and followed up.
Thank you in advance and I hope to hear from any of you soon.
Cheers...
