I am searching for details of the Shortland families of Northamptonshire
(Weedon Beck, Flore, Daventry, Braefield) UK and Newcastle, New South Wales,
Australia.
I believe I am related to Lieutenant John Shortland founder of Newcastle,
Australia in 1797. Albeit a distant relationship I would still be interested
to find the connection - my great aunt has spent a lot of her life researching
the family and I would like to share any information I can find with her.
From my aunt I have obtained considerable details regarding Lieutenant Johns
family and I have myself researched the Shortland family of Northamptonshire (L
ouisa Jane Shortland was my grandmother), however, so far I have been unable to
connect the two families.
