Possible but German is only number 5 in the size of the World's languages.
English, as the bigges, followed by French. makes more sense.
As for Esperanto. I read at one time, that the World's Esperanto speakers
were equal to the number of Norwegian speakers. Norwegian was
"Rationalised" in the 1930s, to make it easier. It has a far larger
vocabulary than L.L.Zamenhof's Esperanto, too.
