I have an Epson Stylus Color 400 and for about one year I had
very good results on any kind of printing, then...

First problem: after I leaved for about a month for holidays
last summer, the black color became very pale, ruining a lot
of pictures and making difficult even the printing of plain
text. I did the heads cleanup routine many times and, using
the printer, the black came back but not as outstanding as
before. Now the cartridge is almost empty, so I will see
if things get better with new black ink.
Anyone else with this problem? Please let me know.

Second problem: I did many tries to recover black printing
and once I found somewhere a question about "mixing black
with other three colors or not". Well, something like.
I tried not to mix and now if I print in colour, the black
part of the picture is not printed at all.
Now, the problem is that I didn't localize that option again!
Apparently, it is not in the driver (I installed it again).
So, if someone knows where this parameter could be located,
either in the Epson driver or in Windows 95 or wherever else,
I'd like to know, because currently I cannot print beautiful
pictures. There are always parts in black!

In fact, I remember it was in the Epson driver, and asked
only during the installation, but installing again never
showed up that damned parameter.

I phoned to the Italian Epson hot line but they could not
help in any way...
