Thanks Paul, I saw something in our paper yesterday ,but not all the
quotes,some of them sound a little sus ie the resonance thing,about
building up until the globe conducts etc.When I saw the piece in the
paper I wondered what would happen to audio cassettes and diskettes
when this strong magnetic field accidentally hit them ? . The local article
did not mention the frequency and I imagined inductive coupling at a
lower frequency , however if the generator is coupled to a coil to give
the output it is probably more likely to be magnetic/inductive coupling
rather than electromagnetic ,although the latter sounds far more
interesting to the common reader. This is just my opinion ,and I am no
scientist ,with unused radiation being returned to the source etc , I
detect the faint aroma of snake oil,whilst this power transfer is quite
feasible I would hazard a guess that there are more downsides than just the
loss of a ham band .
