                         VI  ITALIAN  EME  CONTEST

 Date  and  Time : from 00.00 utc of 2 October 1999 to 24.00 utc of

 3 October 1999

 Frequency :  50,144,432,1296,2304,5760,10450 MHz and UP.

 Mode : CW , SSB . Only bilateral contact EME .

 Report :  M, O, RST.

 Band   144 MHz  ;

 Category

 A) antenna max 20 elements

 B) ant. between 21 to 40 elements or dish up to 7 mt. diameter

 C) ant. between 41 to 80 elements or dish between 7,01 to 10 mt. diameter

 D) ant. between 81 to 160 elements or dish over 10.01 mt. diameter

 E) ant. between 161 to 320 elements

 F) ant. over 321 elements


 Band    432 MHz  ;

 A) antenna max 50 elements

 B) ant.between 51 to 100 elements

 C) ant. between 101 to 200 elements or dish up to 4,5 mt. diameter

 D) ant. over 201 elements or dish over 4,51 mt. diameter

 As for other frequencies (50,1296 MHz and up), categories are one for each

 band.

 To define serial number of elements :  both director and dipole count 1

 element, also the reflector ( whether compound with more elements or not )

 count as 1 element (all referred to each single aerial).

 EX. 1 antenna with 19 elements any trigonal reflector goes in A category,

 also with a plant from 4 to 5 elements or 2 by ten elements is A category

 as well ( referred to 144 and 432 MHz).

 For the stations that use cross antenna, all elements present on each

 antenna will be added up.  EX. :  10 + 10  cross-yagi counted 20 elements;

 17 horizontal + 13 vertical cross-yagi  counted 30 elements.

 OM and SWL  can partecipate. In section SWL also OM are accepted, but just

 as SWL and they can't execute transmission EME during the contest.

 Score  :   10 points a bilateral contact

            31 points a bilateral contact with Italian stations

            10 points a bilateral contact among Italian stations

 References to the classification on 144 and 432 MHz bands :

 If the score of the first in each category does not exceed the first in

 the preceding category, the category itself is declassed.

 EX. : The first in E category scores 1000 points, the first in F category

 scores 990 points, then F category is declassed into E category  and  its

 partecipants compete in E cat. too. In the same way, if the first in  C cat.

 scores 300 p.ts , first in D cat. scores 290 p.ts, first in E cat. 280 p.ts

 and first in F cat. scores 310 p.ts, we will have one classification  for  F

 category and another for C,D,E all together.

 The Winner : Is the one who gets the maximum score in each category.

 Every single station can partecipate in more than one band.

 PRIZES : Only the first in each category gets a prize ; all  the  others

 get a certificate.

 A winner in more than one category, will receive an award in one category

 only and in the others ( even if the is the winner in other categories )

 the award will go the second placed. The first will receive a diploma

 certifying him as the winner, the second a plaque certifying his second

 place.

 For the contest QSO among Italian stations are valid, these and possible

 foreign stations in Italy compete in a separate classification from the

 rest of the world.

 SWL stations : the listened station can be put in as correspondent twice

 only.  SCORE :  10 points a station when listened in QSO,  31 point when

 listened italian station in QSO.  For Italian SWL :  10 point a station,

 wheter foreign or Italian, when listened in QSO.

 The price giving will take place during the Italian EME meeting (conference)

 to be held following the contest and the winners will be informed of the

 results prior to this conference.

 The end of acceptation logs is december 1999.

 Logs are accepted if they contain:  date , time, call, rst send and recvd,

 point of any qso, total score, complete info of station used, expecially

 of antenna system, category, complete address with e-mail, packet radio,

 telephone number, if possible, for quick confirmation of receipt of log.

 Logs are accepted also via e-mail or packet radio.
