Hi all,
.
during the past two months, Marc cut not only some neighbour trees but
also the tower...resulting in higher ERP and a station activation time
of about half an hour.
The off-months were also used to check and improve the tower-mounted
equipment;
-the dish was dismantled and its members strengthened
-the return loss on the orthogonal monopoles of the feed went from 10-11dB
to 28-29dB
-both the hybrid coupler's balance and insertion losses were
close enough to produce circular polarisation...
.
The activity started on last sunday at 1550Z, after solving the
usual ring-PA oscillations, when ZS6AXT went in the log.
The following stations were also worked:
HB9SV, SM2CEW, DF3RU, F2TU, W2UHI, EA6ADW, LX1DB and two intials:
W4RDI and K9BCT.
The following stations were hrd:
W6HD, OE5EYM, HB9BBD, G3LQR, EA3UM and KD4LT.
We quit at about 23Z.
.
Judged on the received reports and the very consistent echoes, the system
improvements were paying off...
No doubt, others have been improving their set-up as well.
So we'd like to hear your comments...
.
Kind regards,
ON7EH, Michel
