Hi all,
after rebuilding and repositioning works in the shack, we faced
serious oscillation in the final 23cm ring PA, which were solved
by 9.30Z this morning.
.
During the European window, we easily worked ZS6AXT, F2TU followed by W2UHI
and VE1ALQ, all on random with good sigs on a quiet band.
After returning from home, I was surprised to see Marc had logged PY5ZBU (#),
K3HZO (#), K5JL, K2UYH and N6BQ, all on his own! (#= new initial)
.
It is an achievement indeed to manually track a 33dBd+ (<3x@-3dB)
while at the same time concentrating for weak returns...
Afterwards, we also worked KB2AH, W7GBI(#), W6HD (#) in a small pile-up
and VE6TA(#)
.
We quit at 15Z with about 15x of moon, because of light rain and
upcoming wind gusts... It was nice to find so much activity on the band...!
The total intial count is now at 63!
.
Especially PY5ZBU (first South American) brings Marc close to 23cm WAC!
Let's hope Oceania will be as easily wkd as ZL1BVU during ON7EH's 2m WAC...
The lack of ground gain, strong ground noise and city noise on these
easterly azimuth's and a short common window keep it challenging to
achieve WAC...
.
We'll soon start experimenting with 70cm dish feeds.
.
