>>> Press Release #3 for Western Sahara Desert Dxpedition 2003 <<<
The S05X multi-national team are now fully operative and as of 19
UTC on 17 April, when the pilots updated them on the messages
arrived, they had logged over 10000 QSOs (1300 with US stations).
Yesterday they had good conditions with the US on 40 and 80
metres, but no good openings towards Asia (less than 100 QSOs so
far).
Unfortunately this morning they were not able to upload the first
batch of logs due to unstable and slow satellite connection. A new
attempt is expected for tomorrow (18 April).
They still have two stations active on SSB and/or CW, one station
for digital modes and a fourth station for 6 metres (beacon on
50.110 MHz).
S05X will be QRV for Asia on 30 and 40 metres starting around
20.30 UTC today, and on 20 metres LP from 8.30 UTC tomorrow.
Their priorities are still US - West Coast, plus Iowa, Minesota,
North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin - Asia and Oceania. Please
avoid dupe contacts on the same band and mode in order to give
others a chance and please stop calling when the operators look
for stations from specific areas (Japan, North America, Africa,
etc).
QSL via EA4URE either direct or through the bureau.
Full details on the DXpedition are available at

The pilots stations are Maurizio, I1-21171/IZ1CRR
(i121171@425dxn.org) and Mauro, I1JQJ (i1jqj@425dxn.org); please
send your messages to the both of them and put "S05X" in the
subject line.
Good Luck in working the DXpedition, de
Maurizio Bertolino, IZ1CRR and Mauro Pregliasco, I1JQJ
