Weekend Activations:
07/02/03: Takeshi, JA5AUC, has cancelled his Saipan operation and will be
active instead from Palau (OC-009) as T88TM. He will be joined by
Norikazu/JA5MY, Kouji/JA5SUD, Tatsuo/JA5EIY and Yuji/JA5ROH/T88RH. Activity
will be from February 7th to 12th, on 160 through 6 meters. QSL via their

08/02/03: Ivars, KC4PX, will be active on 6 metres between February 8th and
15th from Nassau, Bahamas (NA-001) as C6APX. QSL via KC4PX. [Tnx 425DXN]
08/02/03: The Metro Amateur Radio Club will be active February 8th and 9th
(16:00 - 24:00 UTC both days) from the Chicago Harbor Southeast Guidewall
Lighthouse (USA-930). They will be using the special event call K9Y. QSL via
N9BOR, with SASE (Michael J Dinelli, 9423 Kolmar Avenue, Skokie, IL

08/02/03: Al, WB1BVQ, plans to activate Jupiter Inlet lighthouse (USA-411)
February 8, 2003. He also plans to be active February 9th also. For those
collecting counties, Jupiter lighthouse is located in Palm Beach County,
Florida. QSL to WB1BVQ, CBA. [tnx K2JXW]
09/02/03: A German team plans to head south to get away from the cool
weather and be active as 3B8/DK7AO from Point D'Esny, Mauritius Island
(AF-049), between February 9th and 15th. The team consists of: Frank/DK7AO,
Guenter/DL2AWG and Peter/DL3APO (and his XYL). Activity will be on 160-10
meter, but they will focus on the low bands, the WARC bands and some RTTY.
They will have 2 HF stations. QSL via DL3APO. [Tnx OPDX]
09/02/03: Babs, DL7AFS, and Lot, DJ7ZG, will be active February 9th to 23rd
as 5X1DC from Uganda. Their QTH will be located on the Ssese Islands (Grid
Loc: KG60aa), which is located in Lake Victoria near Entebbe. QSL via

09/02/03: Christophe, F5UBH/p, plans to be active February 9th from Locarec
lighthouse (DPLF reference PB-282, for the French Lighthouse Award). The
lighthouse is located in the Region of Bretagne - Brittany (DPF reference
06), Department of Finistere (DDFM reference 29). Operation will be
primarily on 40, 20 and 2 meters. QSL via home call, direct or bureau. [tnx

09/02/03: Ron, ND5S, plans to be active as PJ7/ND5S and Sue as PJ7/KF5LG
from St.Maarten (NA-105) between February 9th and February 22nd. Ron will
again participate in the ARRL CW DX Contest. Outside of the contest,
activity will be 160-10 meters CW, RTTY and SSB in that order. QSL via

Upcoming:
10/03/03: Members of the Florida DXpedition Group (FDXPG) will be part of a
thirty member humanitarian mission team traveling to Haiti (NA-096). They
will operate from the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (NWHCM) March 10th
to 21st. Team members are Jan-HH4/K4QD, William-HH4/N2WB, Bill-HH4/W4WX and
Al-HH4/K3VN. The team will have three stations and when not working on
mission projects they will operate on all bands 160m through 6m and all
modes including PSK-31. QSL HH4/K4QD, HH4/W4WX and HH4/K3VN via CBA. QSL
HH4/N2WB via N2OO. [Tnx K4QD]
20/06/03: Detlev, DL1RTW/p and Klaus, DL7UXG/p, will be active June 20th to
22nd from Pellworm Island (EU-042, GIA N-23 for the German Islands Award)
and Pellworm Island Lighthouse (No.40 for the German Lighthouse Award,
FED-187). QSL via home calls, direct or bureau. [Tnx DE0MST]
26/07/03: Klaus, DL7UXG, will be active between July 26th and August 8th as
OZ/DL7UXG/p from Langeland Island (EU-172, FY-019 for the Danish Islands
Award). QSL via home call, direct or bureau. [Tnx DE0MST]
26/07/03: VE8NET will be operating from Banks Island (NA-129) during the
IOTA contest, July 26-27, 2003. The call sign is from the Western Arctic
Amateur Radio Association. They have 5 confirmed operators and are looking
at five more. Operation will be on all HF bands plus 6 meters from the
community of Sachs Harbour. Modes will be packet, CW, SSB and satellite, so
if anyone needs a VE8 call sign why not get this great one from northern
Canada. The QSL Manager is Neil Sutherland, VE8CQ. You can find the clubs
address as well as the QSL managers address at QRZ.com. QSL cards will be
answered as they get yours. The cards will be in the form of certificates
shaped like the island and will have all the important informataion

11/09/03: Michael, DF3IS, plans to be active September 11th to 25th from
Thassos Island (EU-174) located in the Aegean Sea, in the north of Greece.
Operation will be on 40 through 10 meters, SSB and CW. QSL via home call (no
