CAROLINA DX ASSOCIATION ---> At its annual meeting in December 2002, the
Carolina DX Association (http://www.cdxa.org/) elected the following new
officers for 2003: Ted Goldthorpe, W4VHF (President); Bob Burton, N4PQX
(Vice-President); Jim Miller, K4SQR (Secretary-Treasurer); Joe Simpkins, K4MD

DARC 10M CONTEST ---> The DARC HF Contest Committee invites you to
participate in the DARC 10M Contest (CW and SSB) to be held on 12 January
from 9 UTC through 10.59 UTC (two hours only). Rules can be found at

DUCIE ISLAND ---> In early March the operators for the second Ducie operation
will leave the Gambier Islands (French Polynesia) via boat for Pitcairn and
then Ducie. Several more operators will be welcome, particularly one who is
CW competent. Some SSB and RTTY experience will be helpful. Interested and
experienced operators can contact Stu, WA2MOE (wa2moe@firstinter.net) with a
brief outline of experience.
HR5/F2JD ---> Gerard, HR5/F2JD has logged 5200+ QSO so far (he will be in
Honduras until early March) and hopes to put up an antenna for 160 metres.
Jean-Michel, F6AJA has received the first batch of logs. If you want to check

K1BV DX AWARDS DIRECTORY ---> The 2003 Edition features hundreds of changes,
especially from the European countries that adopted the Euro as a common
currency last year, as well as over 150 new awards. Ted has prepared a

QSL HK3CW ---> Mike, W2GR reports he is now handling *direct* cards only for
Rob, HK3CW. QSL to Mike Benjamin, 1064 99th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14304,
USA. Bureau cards should go to HK3CW.
QSL 9U5D & 9Q0AR ---> Leif, SM5BFJ reports that "the Swedish Post Office has
raised the postage to a level that 1$ is not enough to cover my return
postage". If you still need a QSL card, "please 2$ or 1 IRC".
QSL LX/PA6Z ---> Bert, PA1KW reports that the QSL cards for the September
2002 operation from Luxembourg are going to be sent out in the next coming
weeks.
QSL R1ANC ---> Please note that cards for R1ANC from Vostok base are via
DL5EBE, while cards for Alan's (UA1PAC) portable operations should be sent to
Alan V. Kuz'menko, P.O. Box 88, Amderma, 166744, Russia. Alan is currently
active as R1ANC/p from Lake Vostok until 15 January; he also plans to be
active as KC4/UA1PAC from McMurdo base and as ZL3/UA1PAC from Christchurch,

QSL RU0SYL ---> Nadia, RU0SYL operates on 10, 15 and 20 metres from near the
city of Bratsk, Zone 18. Her QSL manager is UA0SE (Serge Karpov, P.O.Box

QSL V63RE & V63WN ---> Bewteen Christmas and the New Year Nando, IT9YRE was
hospitalized and had to undergo two operations. Nando is slowly recovering
and expects to leave the hospital very soon, but he is still extremely weak.
Gaetano, IT9GAI is helping him with the QSL cards, and the two are doing
their best to send out the cards so that they reach their destination in time
for the IOTA Honour Roll annual update.
QSL VIA N9NU ---> Tim is the QSL manager for KH6XT (not KH6X as reported in
425DXN 610). He apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused. Online

QSL VIA UA4WHX ---> Vladimir, UA4WHX/AC4LN apologizes for the delay in
answering the QSL requests for his summer operations (V31BV, TG4/AC4LN,
TG4/UA4WHX, YS1/AC4LN, AC4LN/HR2, AC4LN/HR1, H7/AC4LN, AC4LN/TI2, HP8/AC4LN,
HP1/AC4LN, AC4LN/6Y5, HI8/AC4LN, AC4LN/HH2, 9Y4/AC4LN, 8R1/AC4LN, 8P9/AC4LN,
8P9BV, J6/AC4LN, J73/AC4LN, J8/AC4LN, AC4LN/J3). The QSLs have been printed
but their quality was so low that the whole order had to be placed again, and
this might take an extra while. If you are interested in knowing if your
