04/01/03: Bill, KM1E, will be active January 4th to March 4th as C6AGN from
the Bahamas. Operation will be on 160 through 6 meters. QSL via W1DIG. [tnx

04/01/03: Alan, K4AVQ, will be active as P40AV from Aruba (SA-036) between
January 4th and 18th. Operation will be on all bands 160 through 10 meters,
however, he will be spending extra time on 160/80 meters CW looking for

09/01/03: Alan, G3XAQ, reports he will be visiting Malabo, Bioco Island
(AF-010), Equatorial Guinea between January 9th and 21st. He expects to
operate on 160 through 10 metres, with an emphasis on low band CW. The

10/01/03: A group of CX's will be active from San Gabriel Island (SA-057)
between January 10th and 13th as CV1F. They will also be activating Farallon
Lighthouse (URU-003). San Gabriel Island is 1 mile from the Lighthouse but
access to Farallon Island is restricted. There is no Lighthouse on San
Gabriel. Operation will be on 40 through 6 meters SSB, CW and maybe some

10/01/03: Bert, PA3GIO, will be active as ZL1/PA3GIO/p from Waiheke Island
(OC-201) on January 10th ONLY. Operation will be on 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10
meters, SSB only. QSL (preferably) by E-mail to: qsl@pa3gio.nl (No
attachment) OR via the bureau to PA3GIO. Bert states, "I do not accept nor
send eQSL's (i.e. www.eQSL.cc)! I do not read my E-mail when on a

11/01/03: On next Saturday, January 11th, André, F5PEZ/p, and Jean Paul,
F5JIT/p, will be active for the French Forts and Castles Award program, from
The Chateau de la Prevoté, (DFCF reference 62-213, Department 62 Pas de
Calais, Picardie Region). Activity will be on 40 and 20 meter SSB, starting

11/01/03: Wayne, K9YNF, plans to be active January 11th to 18th as
K9YNF/HR9 from Roatan Island (NA-057). Operation will be SSB only on 14.260,
18.128, 24.950, 28.460 and 28.560 MHz (+/- QRM). QSL via home call, direct

11/01/03: Jack, F6HMJ, will be active from Marie Galante (DIFO FG-008, IOTA
NA-102) as TO2FG/p on January 11th only. Start time will be approximately
13:00 UTC, for several hours. Operation will be on 20 meter SSB and CW. QSL

14/01/03: Gerald, VE2ACP, Gervais, VE2UE, and Steve, VE2TKH, will be active
from Julienne Lake, Labrador (CQ Zone 2), between January 14th and 17th.
Gerald and Gervais plan to operate as VO2UE, while Steve expects to use
either VE2TKH/VO2 or, if he gets it in time, VO2ZT. This will be a generator
and battery operation, with a G5RV and vertical antennas on most HF bands,
mostly SSB with some CW. QSL VO2UE via VE2ACP, QSL VE2TKH/VO2 (or VO2ZT) via

15/01/03: CA6TBB (Gladys), CE6AMN (Carlos), CE6TBN (Marco), CE6AKH (Jaime),
XQ5SM (Fernando) and CE6NE (Mario) will be active January 15th to 18th as
CE6M from Mocha Island (SA-061). Operation will be 160 through 10 meters,
SSB and CW. QSL to P.O. Box 591, Temuco, Chile. [tnx 425DXN]
16/01/03: John, F5VHQ (ex OE5TGL), will be active January 16th to 24th as
F5VHQ/HI9 from the Dominican Republic (NA-096). Operation will be on 40
through 10 meters SSB. QSL via home call, direct or bureau. [tnx 425DXN]
16/01/03: Robert, 3A2MY, will sign LU/3A2MY between January 16th and 23rd
from the Aconcagua, the highest peak of South American Andes mountains, 6959
metres asl. He will be there with the Alibert expedition members. Robert
will use a home made QRP transceiver with 5 watts out, supplied by solar
cells. Frequency and mode: 14280 to 14290 kHz SSB. A special QSL card will
be issued when return to Monaco. [tnx F5NQL]
17/01/03: Art Phillips, NN7A, will operate as V31JZ/p from South Water
Caye, Belize (NA-180) January 17th to 20th, 2003. This will be a part-time
one-person operation with 100 watts, vertical and wire antennas. Operation
will be mostly CW on 40 through 10 meters, including the WARC bands; some 80
and 160 meters. Some SSB on 20 and 15 meter IOTA frequencies is possible,
conditions permitting. NA-180 was opened as a new IOTA by Art and Mike
Sharp, NG7S / V31RL, in February, 1993. QSL direct via NN7A (Art Phillips,
P.O. Box 201, Flagstaff, AZ 86002 USA), or to NN7A via the ARRL bureau. No
skeds, please. There will be no on-line logs, and email contact will not be

17/01/03: Steve, G4EDG, will be active from Stewart Island (OC-203) as
ZL4/G4EDG from late on January 17th for approximately 4 full days. He will
be active on CW only and running only 100w with a YAESU FT900 IOTA set
kindly donated by YAESU to ZL4HU some years back for this type of operation.
Steve will be active mostly on 20 meters. QSL via home call, direct or

18/01/03: Wade, AA8LL, and Liz, K8LIZ, will be active from the Bahamas
between January 18th and 20th. They will be operating from Crooked Island
(NA-113) as AA8LL/C6A and K8LIZ/C6A. They also have permission to operate as
C6ALB from Bird Rock Lighthouse (WLHA LH-0118, BAH-005). Bird Rock is also
NA-113. Operation will be mostly SSB near the IOTA frequencies from 40-10
meters. This time there will be CW on request for those who always request
it. QSL to their home callsign and C6ALB to AA8LL. [tnx OPDX]
18/01/03: Bert, PA3GIO, will be active as ZK2GI from Niue Island (OC-040)
between January 18th to 26th. Operation will be on 20 through 10 meters, SSB
only. He hopes there will be propagation to Europe approximately 08:00-14:00

25/01/03: Fabrice, F5NBQ, Bertrand, F6HKA, and Jean-Louis, F5UJK, will be
active January 25th to 27th as F5NBQ/p from Oleron Island (EU-032, DIFM
AT-025). They also plan to participate in the CQWW 160m CW Contest. QSL via

30/01/03: Hans, DL7CM, and Sid, DM2AYO, will be active from Haiti (NA-096)
between January 30th and February 16th. Calls will be HH2/DL7CM and
HH2/DM2AYO. Operation will be on all HF bands 160 through 6 meters, CW, SSB
and RTTY. Their main goal is to be on the low bands, 6m and RTTY. QSL via

30/01/03: Terry, VE7TLL, plans to be active January 30th to February 10th
as VR2/VE7TLL from Lantau Island (AS-006), Hong Kong. This is not a
DXpedition, but he will try to be as active as possible on the usual IOTA

Recent Updates -
02/12/2003: Pierre, F6FXS, will be active once more from his son's on
Guadeloupe Main island (NA-102, DIFO FG-001) between February 12th and
March, 12th as FG/F6FXS. It's a CW only activity, but also a holiday one.
Pierre will run about 30 watts from an IC706 and wire antenna. Look for him
on 40 through 10 meters, but mainly around 14030, 18070, 21030 or 28030 kHz
(+/- QRM), in the morning and the evening (local time = UTC minus 4). QSL

04/13/2003: Jean-Marc, F5SGI/p, will be active April 13th to 19th from
Groix Island (EU-048, DIFM AT-012). Operation will be CW only. QSL via home

02/05/2003: A team of 8 members of IOCA Group (9A2WJ, 9A6AA, 9A7N, DF9MV,
DJ3XG, DL1SDN, DL5MFL, DL9CHR), with DE0MST as team-leader and member of WLH
Management Committee, will be active as 9A0CI from Vela Palagruza and Otocic
Palagruza lighthouse (EU-090, CI-084, LH-0057) between May 2nd and 10th.
They also propose to operate from Mala Palagruza (EU-090, CI-461) and
Galijula Island (EU-090, CI-462). Operation will be SSB and CW near the IOTA
and lighthouse frequencies, from 80 through 10 meters. QSL manager will be
