Bob,

Don't forget he's talking about a 386 running DOS. RAM was VERY expensive
back then and installed RAM under 4MB was common. I paid $100 for 4MB of
RAM for my first 386 - a 386SX25. I bought that computer new and it cost
around $2200 with VGA monitor and DOS 5.0. My greyscale 486SX33 laptop
cost $2500 in 1993. It had Win 3.1 - wow!

I ran a 2 port packet switch under JNOS with a 10MHz 286 and 1MB RAM. I
can't forget the huge HDD in that machine - 20MB.
