I have discovered an excellent DOS editor called PEDIT.
It's just like the good old edit.com but it includes an English
spell checker and thesaurus, recognises 32 bit filenames, works and
prints from old dos or via Win9x drivers and has all the usual cut and
paste stuff - even from Win9x programs and an undo function, and word
wrap. Mouse support is built in and macro support plus some other tools.
And best of all it totally FREE with no restrictions at all !
The distribution contains an exe file which is the dos editor with
spell checker and thesaurus built in and also a "lite" version without
spell checker etc and is smaller in size for including in backup disks.
It's distributed as a zip file from www.goldshell.com/pedit which is
330kb in size. Simply unzip and run.
The only thing I wish it had is a "full justification" feature, but then
there's no pleasing some of us :-)
