WORKED ALL E.A.R.S. AWARD.
1. OBJECT: To accrue 100pts by working members and the club station of The
Eastern Oregon Amateur Radio Society on ALL amateur bands.
2. DATE: From 0001July 1st (UTC) to 2359 July 31st (UTC) inclusive.
3. CATEGORIES: The award program will be divided into 3 sections.
HF Only: Single or multi operator on ALL amateur bands below 30MHZ
(including WARC bands).
VHF Only: As above for bands above 30MHz.
SWL/Scanner Listener: Open to reception on all amateur bands.
4. CONDITIONS: Any station may work any E.A.R.S. member once per day,
per band per mode, that is if VK2KOX works KD7IEB on 15m SSB at 2100UTC
on July 1st, then he can work that station on that band and mode until 2
July 2nd. However he may work KD7IEB on any other band or mode. The
exception is for SWLs who may log upto 3 contact per station, band and
mode per day, as long as each entry shows DETAILS OF BOTH STATIONS
involved with each contact.
Contacts using digital modes (eg packet, rtty etc) must be live
keyboard to keyborad contacts. Thats is contacts with Robots and
mailbox will not count as contacts.
If either party is restricted to sub-bands either by licencing
class or by mode then the contact must take place in the appropiate
sub-band for it to be counted.
All legal amateur modes may be used at anytime and no special
provision has been moade for completing the Award on one mode or band.
On VHF not only is the use of repeaters allowed but in fact it
is encouraged and will be scored exactly as if the contact happend via
simplex. This includes the use of digipeaters and wormholes.
For a contact to count RS(T), Time/Date (UTC) and operators
name must be exchanged. If the contact is with the club station then
the operators own callsign must be included. Stations who are running
the club station maybe worked LATER after they shift on the club
station has been completed.
5. SCORING: HF Section:
EARS Member (at home) 2pts
EARS Member (mobile/portable) 3pts
EARS Club Station 10pts
VHF Section:
EARS Member (at home) 2pts
EARS member(mobile/portable) 3pts
EARS Member (handhheld) 5pts
EARS Club Station 10pts
As several categories maybe applicable, each contact will only count
for the points allocated to the highest scoring category. That is if
you work the club station while it is mobile then it is still only worth
and not 13pts (total of club station and mobile).
6. REPORTS: All entries must be postmarked no later than August 15,
2001 to be counted, and must include complete log data (as per Section
4). The inclusion of $3US to cover costs is required (we are a very
small club). Entries can be posted to Eastern Oregon Amateur Radio Club
Simon Clowes (secretary), PO Box 405, Baker City, Oregon 97814.
7. MISC: Club members will append /EARS to their callsigns when calling
CQ or when signing off - to make us easier to find.
The club station, and all its repeaters use the callsign W7NYW. We have
a 2m repeater on 147.060 (+ve), 145.150 (-ve), 145.170 (-ve) and
145.270 (-ve). The last three have a PL Tone of 110.9Hz. The digipeater
is BKE:W7NYW-1 and can be found via the ALWGW (44.12.3.128) gateway.
Again to make it easier for you here is a partial list of club members
and where you might find them.
Ray KK7OF - 6m, 2m, & HF Calvin N7CMH - 70cm, 2m, HF
Debbie N7DLH - 70cm, 2m & HF Nike KD7GHR - 70cm, 2m, HF

but it is hoped that N7DUF will also be available on those modes
shortly. Also most can be found on packet.
