Re Rusting and corroding of shiny metal ie Stainless S, Chrome, Nickel
etc is the fact that each develops an oxide coating in the blink of an eye
and stops rusting and soldering.
However as stated, removal of its self protection allows deterioration by
rust.
The same applies to soldering SS and ALUMINIUM, in that if you can fast
wire brush ahead of soldering, then it becomes possible.
Liquid and solid fluxes are designed to clean surfaces of oxide and keep

a coating there, to exclude oxygen and allow soldering welding etc.
