Two inquiries, one British, the other American, heard testimony from
witnesses in an endeavour to establish the cause of the disaster.

Dozens of witnesses, including Marconi himself, gave evidence about
every aspect of the ship, its ownership, and evacuation procedures
during and after the sinking.

The entire witness testimony given at both hearings can be read here:

http://www.titanicinquiry.org

A fascinating site for some leisurely reading over the holiday break.
Biographies and details of the subsequent lives of about 2,800 of the
passengers are also given.

If you have been to the site before, be advised that it now also
carries partial testimony from the Lusitania sinking inquiry in 1915
(some evidence was given .in camera. for national security reasons).
