When I saw your callsign...it so reminded me of a silent key
I knew in Toronto a few years ago by the name of Harry Corlett
who had the call VE3EX

Harry was a spark gap operator. And he had many a card issued
to one of his early callsigns XHC and one card to me stoodout
the most...the one from 9RB...now a broadcasting station.

>Anyone know of recordings of spark gap transmissions?

I can not remember Harry ever mentioning recording the "racket"
as his family and neighbours called it...I guess thats why it
wasn't at that time a recordable event. Perhaps when spark
was first done there might have been a recording...now lost
perhaps in some basement or attic?

>Perhaps on the net somewhere?

>Have read about spark gap and a description of what they
>sounded like, but have to admit was a little before my time.
