a pinch, build a CW one! A crystal VXO and a few
transistors and coils, or even some of the old battery valves I've still
got, and I could easily generate 5 watts of CW, which would go a lot
further than SSB. It would be more portable than my KW2000 too!

May I suggest that you join the G-QRP club Paula.

It was my interest in CW that motivated me into getting a Radio Amateurs
licence. My Father having been a voluntary interceptor during WW2 and also
operating a CW station at Redhill Surrey for the Southern Railway.

I am G-QRP member 2522. Now there are over 11.5 thousand members
worldwide.

See:-

      www.gqrp.com

which I think you will find of interest.

I would like to know your reaction should you care to express it.

We really should stop meeting like this Paula or people will start talking
about us HI!!
