SUBJECT: R/C Aircraft or R/C Clubs???

Are any of you out there info R/C Airplanes or Helicopters? If so, start a
thread and let's talk about them.

I've been flying R/C since about 1976, and was flying control line for
many years before that. My first R/C stuff was an old Kraft 2 channel system
in a converted free flight sailplane. I also flew an old Bonner Digimite
and E.K.Logitrol gear back in the day. Lots of FUN, but poor control, hewhehe.
I now fly on 72 and 53 mhz with Kraft, Heathkit, and Futaba radio gear.

My current planes are an old Andrews H-Ray, a Don Muddiman designed Flying
Machine, a Top Flite Contender, and a HOTS. I also have a few scratch built
planes of my own design called Debisu, The Shortest Straw, Straw II, a
modified and scratch built Sportster .20, and a scratch built .40 HOTS. I
most recently got a Hangar 9 Twist 40 3D ARF P-n-P model. Don't have it in
the air yet, just haven't had time, heheheheh.

I've been a member of several Flying clubs over the years, and am currently a
member of RDRC (Raleigh Durham R/C Club). Our club has a website at
http://www.rd-rc.org . Our local field has a 500' paved runway and a couple
of grass alternate runways... a nice flying site indeed!

By the way, our local club, RDRC, is hosting a Fall Fly-in and Huckfest, Sept
23-24 2006. This is a 2-day event with on-site camping (and local Hotels for
those who don't camp), loads of activities, food, Hobby-Lobby is to showcase
new product demos, Vendors & Displays, JR / Horizon Hobbies / Quique's Aircraft
Co. / Hobico / Hobby Masters / Apex R/C Hobbies, and more. There are paved
and grass runways. This is at rural AMA Field #733 with acres of beautiful
field, grass, and open sky. There are also demonstrations scheduled by several
famous R/C Pilots. It's one of the largest events in NC. CD is Larry Lewis,
and you can reach him at rclarry@aol.com or (919)231-4983 if you're interested
in coming and have questions.

So, if you're into or interested in R/C flight, shoot a note to rc@ww and let's
get a round table started!
