Maybe the very latest car computers can give such information but I doubt
it very much. There are two computers in my car, one designed to handle
the system when the car is running on petrol and the other for gas. They
do not record anything that I know of.

However I did read somewhere recently that some group was concerned at the
number of fatal accidents and suggested that cars be fitted with a black
box like that in aircraft. Maybe this was the report Dave ws referring to.

Personally I can't see the use for such as this. The speed of a vehicle
can be judged from skid marks and other signs, and cars do not fall from
the sky s do aircraft at times... I think the matter did not receive
support and I have heard nothing since.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
