Hi There
I put out a call for help on a slt compaq to make it work on a vga monitor.
I received many replies and thought it may be benificial to let you all in
to how to do it as I also had people asking me if it can be done and when I
find out to let them know..

so here it is..
CTL ALT < EXTERNAL SCREEN
CTL ALT > INTERNAL SCREEN
CTL ALT ] REVERSE SCREEN
CTL ALT [ NORMAL SCREEN

These key presses to be done together after it bleeps and comes up with
loading ms dos. timing is esential..

The other thing is that the vga socket has one pin blanked so a plug with a
full compliment of pins will not fit, however a small drill will fix that but
only drill in a mm or so as there is a pin connector behind the blank..
I can now plug my svga monitor in and it works in colour..
I hope this is of some use to you I accept no liability for anyone taking a
drill to there pc you do this at your own risk but it worked for me...

The information about key strokes came from PA0GKR Bert
