I own a Presario mod 2254 with K6-233 MHz and 32Mb on the motherboard.
In the Compaq site the mem expansion for that is reported to a max of 90Mb
and so I would like to expand it with other 64Mb on the available slot ( 1
only). The SincDRAM is no longer available from Compaq and at the time I buy
the 2254 it has not been possible for me to get this expansion, and Compaq
Service, after a lot of calls and faxes answered quoting it to abt 400
dollars , what I believed to be a quit too much compared with other prices
for mem expansion.
So I went on with the 32Mb that with win95 were enough, as I have seen on
the test 2254 (that had win95...) But as I went home, my 2254 had win98
installed and it was a bit too slow with 32Mb....
That's why I will expand it. ( I will not try to upgrade to win2000...I can
figure it would be scarce with 128Mb.....)
And more about presario 2254: I saw it in another shop, same model 2254, but
havin a k6 at 300MHz .... and in another shop I saw another 2254 having a k6
233 but with only 16Mb on the motherboard.... and they still are the same
machine?
Anyway, it works fine, a bit too slow, but fine.
So back to the question :
1) WHAT KIND and WHERE could I buy the mem expansion ??
2) Somebody may write me what type of hard-disk shoul I use to add as 2nd
