Hi,I have in my possesion a laptop model slt/286 which a friend bought at a
rally (oh no not another horror story i hear you cry) I'm afraid so,after
getting it home it ran a cuople of times then stopped working properly,on
switch on it asks for a diagnostics disk which i haven't got,also there is no
battery with it but i do have a docking station for it allowing me to use mains
power,it appears that it has lost it's cmos memory to a degree because it will
not recognise that it has a hard drive or com ports e.t.c..but it does retain
the time and date? any help would be appreciated with the diags disk or info
about the battery/cmos e.t.c.it seems a shame to bin the thing when my friend
payed good money in good faith hoping to use it for packet.thanks for any
