CLX is a clone of AK1A PacketCluster that runs under the Linux operating
system. The name CLX stands for CLuster software running under linuX and is
written by Franta Bendl, DJØZY and Bernhard (Ben) Büttner, DL6RAI.
Development of CLX began in February 1994 and continues today with as much
enthusiasm as when the project first began. The program is becoming more and
more sophisticated as features are added and is now virtually
indistinguishable from Pavilion PacketCluster from an users point of view.
The documentation is kept up to date by Ben, DL6RAI. CLX comes with all the
documentation it requires and is fully self contained. An user manual (for an
older version) has been written by Ian and you can view that and the sysop
manual on-line by clicking on the manual button to the left from this page.
The manuals come with the CLX package too. The user manual (from a previous
version also) has been translated into the French language by Gerard Parat,
F6FGZ. Gerard has also done a lot of translation work on the CLX help
commands, thanks Gerard! The latest README file is now on the manuals page
too so you can see the latest features and how to install the latest release.
CLX now has an official FAQ maintainer. Matthew (Max) George, NG7M has
volunteered (he wasn't coerced, honest!) to do the deed, thanks Max! If you
have any FAQ's for Max, you will find his email address on the mail page.
Please be patient while he catches up and starts to collate information for
the FAQ. If you think you can help, I am sure he would welcome it.
CLX is freeware.
