Only for new calls to British residents I assume. In '79 I received a VHF
only guest license G5MRJ during a three week holiday. Things change..

A good idea. In PA the CEPT prefixes are PA for class I and PE for class II.
Which is which for G or M anyway?

In my licence it says:

"When transmitting in the country visited, the holder must use his
national callsign, preceded by the country designation as
specified by the country visited and followed by the letter M for a
Mobile station and a P for a Portable station."
