Hi all .....In answer to the many bulls that have been flying around the UK
about weather or not packet radio should be leagalised on CB or not.
Providing that there were guide lines and no abuse of the system and one had to
apply to the RA in the same way that one does now on amateur packet.
I would if it were made legal go out and buy a CB licence tomorrow and set up a
node here.
The advantages that i acn see are cheap equipment, Sp Es in the summer giving
dx to europe. and a good opening for novice operators to try packet on another
band beside 70cm...
The problems that i can see would be illegal gateways from CB to Amateur bands
and possibly offensive messagees being sent out with a disregard to everyone
else. But who knows it might work and i think its worth a try.
But only if it's made legal of course.
