Hi any BPQ users.
I Run this BBS with FBB and BPQ and have for many years now.
A recent PC and Software change at a Local Portal that Gives me an Internet
link to my Forward partner has I think started to upset BPQ ?
My Version of BPQ is the old 4.08a Version which is a DOS one.
My FBB Version is 7.00i and the Windows is 98 ( last of Second edition )
PC is an old Pentium 230 with 700 Meg RAM.
For years everything has worked quite hapily so as the saying goes ?
If it ain't Broke then Don't Fix it, thus I have refrained form BPQ update.
Now I find that FBB will attempt to make a Connect, I can see the ACK in
monitor window but it is not responding with the Connected to and thus just
sits until it times out, I have done a complete Re install from original
software apart from the BPQCFG.TXT which is of course used to CFG BPQ for My
system and being in Text can hardly be the problem.
I have checked the RAM in the PC Etc but the only way I can solve the
problem is to Re Boot ? I would consider it to be My PC but I also have
exactly the same problem with our Scout camp BBS - EI5MRC - and it is using
exactly the same setup as myself and as above everything WAS working until
this change on the WITIP system.
It Has to be BPQ becouse a simple re boot of FBB will not help.
Problem now is that in the past I did try a couple different versions of
BPQ but they were not Oficial versions and had many problems, So ?
Has anyone got a Later version or even a Different Node Version, up and
running reliably and if so, what and where can I download, Inet ? Yes.
Has anyone got any idea or even perhaps had this problem and found a solution
as it is most frustrating to have to Re Boot every hour or so !!!
BBS is now on a very frustration intermittant operation --- HELP ???
