I suggested the same thing to him months ago, and I am still wainting for
him to send me my computer.
Right now I run bpq and rli and various other servers here and it all works
fine. Bpq is also running on a second computer with win95 and there are no
problems with it.
I'll be switching soon to new code that talks to our standard email clients
under win95 (SNOS), and it will also use bpq as it's interface to the outside
world.
And why not? It is compact, efficient, and set up correctly it runs with
very little maintenance required. And did I mention that it is easier to
set up correctly than a lot of the others?
Anders is a great fellow and I enjoy my discussions and debates with him,
but he is wrong to claim that bpq is somehow inferior.
It is dated, but for a huge segment of us, it is the ONLY code that delivers
the features that we need in our interface to packet radio.
I have said before that we want and need a real 32 bit program that delivers
these features, and when we get it I will try it. I have tried the ones that
claim to be it, and they are not.
