Hi!

Nice??

No.

It is not mroe relialbe than other nodes, and they can be used with
baycommodems, scc boards etc withourt any problems.
>But on the other hand, FLEX is

No it is not like that.
The baycom driver is avalialbe in two versions, one for 16550A uarts (the
latest ser12 1.6) and one for other uarts(1.5).
But that is nothing speciall for flexnet, you alwasy need a different for the
16550A uart!
Taht is why the origianl baycom software wount work with a 16550A uart!
And to find your is not to hard, every systemdiagnostics program tells you
what uart you a hvae.
If you use verion 1.6 but should not do, will there be strange pause in
the reception like that the driver ahngs for a rther long time, if that happens
don't user version 1.6.
For baycom modes is flexnet the best packet driver avaliable!
>Why a baycom modem you ask?
For low speed packet is it better!
>Why not a tnc? Well, tnc's in KISS, HOST or 6PACK modes really only use the
>tnc as a modem, so why not just a modem in the first place.
No need for tncs on low speed packet!
When using kiss, will it not works as good as a bayocm modem any way.
>Yes, I do have a tnc
>here, MFJ1270b actually, and I find it is a very nice noise and
>crap generator, better with some rigs than others, but not good.
No.
>Also, can anyone out there honestly tell me they have the FLEX

>course. Anyway, that's my findings on 3 different machines.
Guess there are people using it, but I don't.
