Hello Everyone

>used in Sweden doesn't mean that nobody uses it....
The problem is that it is both obsolte and used in Sweden!
Im sure that bpq and much other crap is used in UK, but what difference
does that make? It is still obsolte, there are other much better net/rom nodes
to use. And also other good nodes.
BPQ is not used because it is good, it is used because someones
neighbour use it, everyone else use it, pople don't know better etc.
And often don't they know how to configure the node either, use the same
parameters as their neighbour.
And also because BPQ is Brittish, but most other nodes are from Germany
etc. But now a days are the documentation in english also for those softwares,
so it is not a problem any more.

>And of course, we wouldn't all be using it if it didn't work, would
>we? Whereas Flexnet has never worked for me....
Bpq doesn't work good in all places used!
There are alot of misconfigured bpq nodes around, and the routing is very bad
working every where, kiss is always bad to use.
The misconfiguration problem is what you get away from by using flexnet.

Flexnet is very easy to get working, but used under win95 can it be a bit
tricky, thanks to uncle bill.
But there are some people who tries to use the kiss link driver as tncs driver
etc which doesn't work very good.

>I must agree in saying that Flexnet is quicker to set up, but you

>PMSs etc etc).
What?
You can run a bbs, pms etc on the same computer as flexnet if it is fast
enough as you can do with bpq, that is how it often is used with the baycom
mailbox. But depending on if you want to run a flexnet node what speeds you
use, number of ports etc can it sometimes be better to let the node have its
own computer.
But that is like that with bpq also, many users shoehorn in fbb7 and bpq in a
to slow computer and expecially when using kiss will that result in many
problems. Like that the link speed is limited by the computer not the speed of
the tncs etc used.
