Hi,

Here we go again,
Back into the BPQ debate.
And no doubt pushing the FLEX barrow, some of you anyway.

I will reiterate my findings here,
At least BPQ works and is reliable, ok it won't run on all machines
in baycom modem mode, granted, because it needs NODE2BAY
and BAYDRV as well as BPQ. But on the other hand, FLEX is
hopeless with a baycom modem, 4 or five files to try depending on
the UARTS in your machine, and none of them work in my findings.
Why a baycom modem you ask? Why not a tnc? Well, tnc's in
KISS, HOST or 6PACK modes really only use the tnc as a modem,
so why not just a modem in the first place. Yes, I do have a tnc
here, MFJ1270b actually, and I find it is a very nice noise and
crap generator, better with some rigs than others, but not good.
Also, can anyone out there honestly tell me they have the FLEX
SOUNDMODEM running correctly. It tx's and rx's beautifully, but
it tx's over every other station on air, which is unacceptable of
course. Anyway, that's my findings on 3 different machines.

Bob
