Hello All
its all very well screaming and shouting about the latest piece of
Packet software, within the UK the NETWORK is BPQ, Flexnet? I have
requested Flexdigi from the Flexnet Website, as I wished to use Flexnet
Node system, still waiting, not heard a thing from the authors.
but as I said already The UK is a BPQ Network, Flexnet is beginning to pick
up but slowly, it is an expensive business to alter a network from a new
system from a tried and tested network, which does work and very well, as
for BPQ being obsolete, I would say that is an extreme view, I would
presume that the view extends to Morse code & RTTY etc.
To have a Network you need more than one station operating to the same
protocols, I have heard that some stations are using Flexnet, at higher
baud rates but I do not know any personally, so switching to a system which
I am not even sure actually exists in my area, is a bit of a leap of faith
and probably a fairly expensive one at that.
BPQ is NOT dead or obsolete, it is also one of the more reliable systems
available, 10yrs old maybe but its beaten most of the competition during
that time, and is still ticking along quite nicely thankyou.
I wonder if AGW or Flexnet will still be as popular in 5yrs?
