To use bpq when there are much better software avaliable is there no point in.

You obviusly haven't tried any other packet driver.
If the nodes which is using bpq would change to flexnet would the transfering
capabillity of the network increase.
You will get the most out of the equipment already used.
Both the node and a packet driver are real easy to set up and it doesn't
require knowledge of the parameters which the operators doesn't have.
