BPQ WILL NOT COMMUNICATE WITH TNC IN KISS :-
Using a 1gb hard drive, a Pentium 100 with Windows 95 and a Tiny-2 mk2
modem with WinPack 6.3 software. Having setup BPQCFG.txt, edited the
BPQCFG.exe and obtained the BPQCFG.bin. Then loaded BPQCODE, also edited
the AUTOEXEC.bat with CD \BPQ408a, BPQCODE.exe, CD \, putting the
BPQCODE.386 and BPQDLL.dll in the windows\system. Then putting the TNC in
KISS mode, the PAC4.exe works okay which indicates that BPQ is working,I
also get all the right response messages from BPQ after setting it all up,
but will not communicate with the Tiny2 TNC. So I told windows to ignore
COM2 port on the hard drive and tried again. Everything about BPQ works
okay even when WinPack is loaded, but what ever I do, neither WinPack or
BPQ will communicate with the Tiny2 Mk2 TNC even though I have checked
that windows ignores my COM2 port and the TNC is in KISS mode.
When starting up the computer, AUOTEXE.bat gives me all the right
answers and loads BPQ and the working parameters appear to be okay as
well, but if I do a (C)onnect (callsign) in WinPack or PAC4.exe, nothing
from the TNC, like as if it's deaf.
It's so frustating after getting so near yet so far, especially
after asking for many help requests with this BPQ408A programme on the
same subject.
WinPack in terminal and TF2.7 host mode with the Tiny2 modem works
perfectly.
