Hello and thanks for reading this,
I run NPF ver 2.52 in conjunction with BPQ
VER 4.08 on a Baycom modem. In the main, it works very well apart from, what
appears to me, to be a problem with the BPQCODE. The BPQ software seems to run
very slowly, in that, when it goes to put the modem to transmit, it seems
almost erratic. Usually, I connect to a node which is line of sight from my
location and the connect time can run in to minutes! Downloading mail from my
local BBS is EXTREMELY slow. It has never reached the stage where it times out,
but it is very time consuming. I have tried altering various params in the
BPQCFG.TXT file, paclen, frack, paclen etc but all to no avail. I have used
BPQAX25 with open squelch, closed squelch, changed txd, axh again to no avail.
Running SP GP with TFPCX gives almost instananeous connections, but I want to
run NPF!
My machine is a 486DX2-66Mhz with 8Mb RAM so I do not think the problem lies in
the software of the demands of the CPU.

BPQ is configured for a single 1200baud port
BPQAX25 is configured for -cd and txd of 450 millisecs.

If you have experienced this problem, I would be delighted to hear from you.
I thing NPF is an excellent programme, I just wish BPQ was a bit more
responsive! All replies will be acknowledged promptly and individually.
Thank you in advance.
