Well, the official logic is that if a bike is nimble like a sports bike, but
comfy enough for longer runs and ok for a pillion, then you can call it a
sports tourer. However, the reality is - in my cynical view - that when a
sports bike no longer cuts the mustard against the current machines,
it is given a sort of elder statesman image with the title "sports tourer".

On the subject of sports tourers, I love my VFR750F to bits, so I'm
obviously biased. If I had the space I might be tempted to change it for a
Pan Euro to keep her ladyship comfy when we're out together, and a TransAlp
for whizzing round the bumpy country lanes on my own. However, for now
"Victor the VFR" will do very nicely thankyou - he took us over most of
Lancashire on Sunday, and it was absolute bliss! :-))

Bye
