Hello folks.
Can anybody tell me the difference between the engines of a Honda monkey
bike and a common C90 zz. The problem i have is that i have just bought a brand
new ebgine for my 1973 C90 (œ20 for engine). As far as i know the engine had
been in a glass case in a University as a static display and has quite clearly
never ever been used or even stripped.
I thimk it could be from a monkey bike as the carb inlet tube is facing
backwards and is facing slighty to one side. It also has a larger alternator
cover that is more squared off than a standard C90.
No doubt you are thinking why bother with an old nail such as a C90. Well it
is soon to be tax exempt and costs nothing to insure as its on my Z1000 policy
at no extra cost (Thank the classic mob for that). I also have hundreds off
spare bits for it and brand new parts are so cheap its a joke to use second
hand parts! I recently bought 7 boxes of brand new bits for œ35 at an auto
jumble.
If you can help with the identity probs on the engine then send a bull to
"Bike" so all can read. Thanks!
73s de Alan G7TGF @ GB7SYP.
