hope you can help with this enquiry...

I have been asked to maintain four Derny Pacing motorcycles at Meadowbank
velodrome in Edinburgh.
These are the bikes that are used to pace cycle races and for training
sprinters and pursuiters at race speed.

They are made by a specialist firm in Bordeux firm called M.S. Burdin.
( All attempts to get info from them has failed )

The nearest thing I can compare them to is a delivery moped.
They have a very high ratio fixed wheel that the driver pedals to have
some fine control on the speed, but the hard work is done by a
80cc Motobecane two stroke engine with a centefugal clutch and magneto
ignition.

If you have any experience of these bikes or even of the engines perhaps you
can give me a call. I am especially interested in the torque settings,
ignition timing data and carburettor settings, infact all the data
needed for an overhaul....

Thanks in advance for your interest..

Regards Allister.
